this is my posative/negative notan carving type thing i found this really easy to carve and make in general i like what i did with making the design that i did i think it works very well.
this is my two hands interacting, what i did was i traced both my hands and then using a black/grey background i hand an explosion of color where my two finger meet. I had a little trouble tracing my hands other then that it was good.
This is my "vase face" it is thus called because if you look at for 20-30 seconds it appears as a vase made up of two faces looking at each other, the one on the right was traced and the left one was drawn.
This is my upside-down drawing of picasso's stravinsky in doing this we had to start from the bottom and work our way up i say that it started good but as i got to the head it got worse this is known as " mutated stravinsky".
This is my blind contour which was when i drew my hand on the paper without looking at the paper just my hand as you can see it turned out weird.
this is one of my attempts at drawing my left hand i had some trouble in a few different places such as my ring finger and my thumb is kind of off but overall i like it.
My favorite part of this project was was using the carving tools to carve the linoleum block because it was easy to do, my least favorite part was seeing that parts of the finished piece did not turn out the way i thought they would. Part of my inspiration for the subject of my print (which was a meteorite flying by the moon) was that i like things that have to do with space and the unknown, and also i thought it would look cool printed. The only thing i would do differently is carve certain things differently. Some conceptsi learned were how to use the brayer in the ink and not paint. The only thing that that surprised me was how easy it was because it sounded harder than it actually was.
this is my block print it is a meteorite flying by the moon, this was the first time i had attempted anything like this. |
